BRISA KWAIKEN – JAPANESE TRADITION MEETS FINNISH DESIGN

Introducing the Brisa Kwaiken - a knife that blends traditional Japanese design with modern functionality and sleek Finnish design.

The Kwaiken knife has an interesting backstory that dates back to the Edo period in Japan. Originally, the Kwaiken, or "kaiken" was a discreet and compact knife that was carried by men and women as a self-defense weapon. It was designed to be easily concealed and was often worn inside the sleeve or tucked into a sash. Over time, the Kwaiken evolved to become a more versatile tool, used for everyday tasks such as preparing food, opening letters, and even as a smoking pipe cleaner. Today the Kwaiken has become a popular knife design among enthusiasts.

The Brisa Kwaiken is made out of M390 supersteel which is a stainless powder steel that is known for it's edge retention, toughness and wear resistance. It is small enough to be an everyday carry and an excellent blade when precise cuts needs to be done.

The blade is slim and elegant, measuring just over 90 mm in length, 24 mm in width and 4 mm in thickness. Total length of the knife is 185 mm.

There are two handle options for this knife: the white ivory micarta and the luxuriously dark ebony wood. The knife comes in a leather sheath, which you also get to choose the color of in customization.

At Brisa, we are proud to offer a wide range of high-quality knives. Our commitment to quality and craftsmanship is evident in every knife we produce, and the Brisa Kwaiken is no exception.
