Color is generally an orangish or reddish brown. Color tends to darken with age to a medium to dark reddish brown. The wood is actually the root of the tree. The tree grows only in parts of Spain and Northern Morocco. Can be difficult to work. Sands and finishes well.

The blocks may have cracks or other defects.
